Leah LaGrange

Choreographer & Dance Educator

My Story

As a Louisiana native, I am a professional dancer, educator, and choreographer represented by Go 2 Talent Agency. Living in Los Angeles, CA, I was a 5-year member of Mashup Contemporary Dance Company and a 3-year member of the LA Follies, dancing and performing both locally and nationally. I have trained and worked with choreographers and educators such as Dana Foglia, Liz Imperio, Antoine Troupe, Kolanie Marks, Lisette Bustamonte, Nina McNeely, Marissa Osato, Ricky Cole, and Alison Stoner, to name a few.

I have danced commercially for World of Dance, Apple Music, Grey Goose, and Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, as well as for musical artists such as Finneas, Radical Something, and Bright Lights. Through my experience with company work, I was able to perform concert dance at many live events such as the APAP Conference in New York City, Los Angeles Dance Festival, International Women’s Day Festival, Los Angeles Design Festival, Danscape, and Raw Artists, as well as many full-length company works with resident choreographers.

My passion for dance goes beyond performance. My creativity and choreographic mind can be described as rigorously athletic and dynamic, while utilizing gestural representation for emotional expression. I enjoy being on the other side of dance, designing movement and concepts for both competitive and professional dance. I had the honor of being nominated a Capezio A.C.E. Awards finalist for my choreography, as well as becoming a reoccurring creative for L.A based live showcases such as Choreographer’s Carnival, Club Jete, and Loose Cannons. My work has been seen by the eyes of many through other various performances with Mashup Contemporary Dance Company, International Women’s Day Festival, and Bright Lights.

My interest in creative movement, as well as photography, has taken me into the world of movement coaching. By guiding artists, models, and dancers with their bodily expression, I am able to help them perform comfortably while pushing the artistic envelope for the camera. I have movement coached print models in Chicago for the Nike/Jordan Brand spring collection and aspire to continue working with artists and models for camera and stage.

I continue to teach and educate dance artists nationally, focusing on artist expression and technical foundation. I have taught at professional studios such as Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studios, Millennium Dance Complex, and ImmaSpace, as well as for professional and pre-professional companies such as Mashup Contemporary Dance Company, ImmaBreathe, The House Dance Complex, and Pave School of the Arts. I currently train and choreograph for competitive studios, teams, schools, and universities across the nation, including Lamar University and The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am available for private lessons, masterclasses, choreography, re-staging, cleaning, and residency programs.
